Artificial intelligence (AI)

Artificial intelligence (AI) is a field of computer science focused on creating systems capable of performing tasks that typically require human intelligence, including reasoning, learning, perception, language comprehension, and decision-making.

There are two types of AI:

  1. Weak AI: designed for specific tasks, it is the most common type of AI, found in virtual assistants, image recognition, and recommendation systems.
  2. Strong AI: theoretical for now, it aims to reproduce intelligence comparable to that of humans, capable of understanding and reasoning across many situations.

AI is based on several sub-disciplines, including:

  • Machine learning: systems learn from data and improve their performance without explicit programming.
  • Deep learning: an advanced form of machine learning that uses large neural networks to analyze complex data.

AI is transforming many sectors with innovative and effective solutions, and its evolution suggests a growing impact on our daily lives and on how we work.
